Reverse Engineering, 3D/2D Modelling & Prototyping

A part fails. There’s no drawing, no CAD file, no spec — the OEM is gone, or won’t share it. Every procurement team runs into this eventually. We rebuild the part from scratch, starting with the physical piece in hand.

Capture

Physical measurement / 3D scan of the existing part.

Reconstruct

Full 2D/3D CAD model rebuilt from the physical geometry, with a complete bill of materials.

Validate for manufacturing

Design-for-manufacturability review, including material nesting/layout optimization to control cost before production.

Prototype

3D-printed iteration to verify fit and function before tooling commitments.

Bridge to sourcing

Once the spec exists, it flows directly into Strategic Sourcing for quoting and production.

One recent job: a precision multi-bearing shaft assembly with spring-loaded plates and seals — no OEM documentation available. We reverse-engineered it into a full 3D model and assembly drawing with a complete 34-part bill of materials, then produced nesting layouts for the sheet-metal components to optimize material yield ahead of quoting.
